UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS AMHERST

Wireless Guest Access Conditions of Use:

1.      Guests are subject to all University policies regarding acceptable use as outlined in the following URL: http://www.oit.umass.edu/policies/

2.      The University considers any violation of acceptable use principles or guidelines to be a serious offense. We reserve the right to copy and examine any files or information resident on University systems allegedly related to unacceptable use and to protect our network from systems and events that threaten or degrade operations.

3.      Machines that contain viruses, malware, or are otherwise compromised will be detected and immediately removed from the campus network pursuant to University Policy. Users of Guest Accounts will have no direct recourse. It should be expected that infected or compromised machines will not be reconnected during the scheduled event.

4.      In some cases, violations of acceptable use principles or guidelines will cause the Guest Account, not the compromised machine, to be suspended. This will result in ALL users of that Guest Account being disconnected from the network for the duration of the event. If this occurs, Guest Sponsor privileges may be revoked.
