Newshare Niche Content/Advertising Online Business Model

Key Points: Please note that publications I have worked with have easily covered online production expenses by using a "forced-buy" model. An example is adding $10.00 to the price of each print ad that appears in your niche print product ($10.00 x 30 ads = $300.00). These print advertisers get a text listing within the online niche product that includes name, slogan, address, telephone, e-mail and web address. While I was New Media Manager for the Sioux City Journal we earned thousands of dollars each month by using this "forced-buy" model. Now with Newshare, building revenue this way can be enhanced by building a deeper "subscriber relationship" with your existing print subscribers as well.

• Monthly Online banner (choice of sizes)

$150. (annual fee)

Note: All Niche Content Network publishers receive free online banner promotions on the Newshare.net Niche Content Network site.

Print/Online Integrated Advertising Sales Service

(optional)

Advertising sales advise and support

Note: The "forced-buy listing" is meant to be the first step in selling other "standard building block" online sales products (i.e. logo with listing, extra text with listing, business profile page, banner, niche sponsorship

$250. (5-hours at your facility) to work with your sales staff to sell other online products to advertisers listed in the niche site.

OR Newshare becomes your online sales team. Publication can contract with Newshare to sell these products to these niche advertisers on your behalf. Newshare will return 25% of the sales revenue after expenses to publication.

Direct-mail "Subscriber Relationship" Package

(non-optional)

Letter composition with PIN inviting your subscribers to register. Or letter can be used for prospecting by zip code in conjunction with a print subscription outreach program.

Note: Fee will depend on number of PINs you want to distribute and enable for free access, printing, postage and mailing label generation responsibilities.

Authenication and Transaction System

Fee per activated online subscriber PIN

Example: This fee is only charged per PIN that has been activated during the course of a month. If a PIN is active (used) in one month there is a fee. If PIN is not active in the next month there is no fee.

15¢ per active online subscriber per month (invoiced per month)

Note: All users will register as Newshare Members but will be identified by their PIN GROUP so reports can be generated per niche product owner.

 

Pay-Per-View Earning Share

(non-optional)

This is a fee you pay only if a non-subscriber comes in and buys your content on a pay-per-view basis.

$10 cents per sale

Example: All Newshare Niche Network pay-per-view content is priced at 25¢ per view.Therefore Newshare would retain 10¢ of each sale and the publisher would receive 15¢ (earning disbursements are made on a monthly basis).

Custom Branding and Expanded Use As Online Publishing Platform

(optional)

Set up of a custom application/database web site for use by the publisher with publisher logo and other branding and contact text

• Can be used for news content, subscrip- tion offers, etc. as well as multiple niche product categories and advertiser listings

$500. minimum set up fee for application/database plus items above.

Note: Complete one-time and monthly cost estimates will be prepared after discussion with client.

Note: Fees are for publications in Connecticut, Massachusetts, eastern New York state and Rhode Island. Please ask for a travel expense estimate if you are located outside these areas.

Conclusion: As you see the one-time fees and monthly fees are low. With many tied directly to a revenue share. Our involvement can be incremental or total. The model is workflow neutral and ROI positive. It is our desire to make your online efforts an integrated part of your revenue and subscriber goals. We have the model to make that happen.
