Fewer people listening to music on radio: Why?

The nation's largest owner of radio stations, Clear Channel Communications Inc., says it is just playing what people want to hear. But radio listenership is down, Arbitron says. And listeners interviewed by Associated Press reporter Larry McShane say its because they don't like what they are hearing. They yearn for the old days of "free form" radio -- and they're tired of hearing the same Top-40 songs, over and over again.
